27th INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM IN THE FIELDS OF PULP, PAPER, PACKAGING AND GRAPHICS
27th International symposium in the field of pulp, paper, packaging and graphics will be held in Belgrade,
Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Resavska 13-15, June 17-18, 2026.
Symposium is organized by Center for pulp, paper, packaging and graphics industry of Serbia and Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade, under the patronage of Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of Republic of Serbia and Association of Forestry, Wood Processing, Furniture and Paper Industries of Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
THE MAIN GOALS OF THE SYMPOSIUM ARE:
The XXVII CPAG Industry Symposium aims to bring together experts from industry, research organizations, and academia to exchange knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions addressing the contemporary challenges of the pulp, paper, packaging, and graphic arts sector.
In the context of rapid technological development, increasingly complex regulatory requirements, and the ongoing energy transition, the symposium provides a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue focused on sustainable development, digital transformation, and strengthening industrial competitiveness.
The event encourages collaboration between science and industry, modernization of existing production systems, and the active involvement of a new generation of engineers and researchers.
CPAG 2026 places particular emphasis on practical and research-based solutions that contribute to improved efficiency, reduced environmental footprint, responsible resource management, and enhanced product quality within CPAG industry.
TOPICS OF SYMPOSIUM ARE:
- Industry Transformation and Regulatory Framework: Implementation of PPWR regulation, packaging waste management, cross-border movement of secondary raw materials, and the impact of regulatory changes on business operations.
- Innovations in Production and Materials: Innovations in paper manufacturing technologies aimed at improving energy efficiency, process optimization, and reducing production costs, alongside the development of advanced cellulosic materials, barrier coatings, active and intelligent packaging, nanocellulose, and new applications of virgin fibres.
- Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence: Digital twins, automation strategies, quality optimization and integration of production and logistics systems. Artificial Intelligence for a Smart CPAG Industry – data-driven manufacturing and AI tools for improving production efficiency and sustainability.
- Energy Efficiency and Decarbonization: Integration of renewable energy sources, CO₂ emission reduction, process optimization, and sustainable energy management strategies.
- Circular Economy and Raw Material Management: Fibre recycling and reuse, packaging waste collection systems, industrial waste valorization, and closed-loop production concepts.
- Environmental Protection and Sustainable Technologies: Wastewater treatment, emission control, reject management, and the development of technologies with a reduced environmental impact.
- Industrial Case Studies and Best Practices: Regional and European examples of production optimization, logistics improvement, and sustainable packaging solutions.
- Education and Workforce Development: Strengthening cooperation between academia and industry, development of new competencies, and motivation of young professionals for the CPAG sector.
SYMPOSIUM PROGRAM CONSISTS OF:
- Plenary lectures (20 + 5 minutes for discussion);
- Other lectures (15 + 5 minutes for discussion);
- Promotions of technology and products of local and foreign companies (as agreed);
- Round table – discussions on selected present

Instruction for authors
The papers presented on symposium will be printed in the Proceedings after peer review. Invited lectures should include up to 10 A4 pages, other lectures up to 8 of typed text, including pictures and other attachments.
The authors will be provided with: video projector, computer, sound system and screen. Should the authors have some special requests, they are asked to note it in advance. Papers must be delivered as Microsoft Word files.
Please prepare your papers according to the following instructions:
A4 format, all margins 2,54 cm, font Calibri Light, single spacing, the first line of each text paragraph indented by 1,27 cm.
Apply the styles in the following order:
MAIN TITLE (capital letter, 16 pt, bold); authors (12 pt); company / institution name followed by city and country (12 pt); abstract (up to 7 lines, 12 pt, italic); key words (12 pt, bold italic); numbered chapter title (12 pt, bold).
For example: INTRODUCTION, 12 pt, bold; text of the paper (12 pt); references (11 pt, italic).
At the end of the document state name(s) and full postal and e-mail address of corresponding / presenting author.

The membership for the symposium is mandatory for all participants and is 200 EUR, and it includes participation in the Symposium, printed copy of Proceedings and the accompanying materials, refreshments during brakes and ceremonial dinner.
Official languages are Serbian and English, and the simultaneous translation will be provided.
